Davenport Country Club first opened for play in 1924. The course was designed by H. S. Colt and C. H. Alison. The course was restored to its original esthetic in 2015. The restoration was handled by golf architects Ron Forse, Jim Nagle, and Bob Lohmann.
The course was built on rolling hills along the banks of the Mississippi River. The course challenges with elevation changes, streams, ponds, mature oak, maple and ash trees, and undulating greens.
